Every year we do an annual survey on a Sunday morning. It takes about ten minutes, but it’s worth the time. It gives us a congregational pulse. It’s one of the most important things we do all year.
I’m beginning to process the results so I’ll periodically blog about them.
One of the questions we asked was about launching our third theater location. Our vision is to meet in movie theaters @ metro stops throughout the DC area. But I was anxious to see if that still resonated with the congregation-at-large. One of my fears is that we’d lose the vision and get comfortable with two locations!
So we asked the $64,000 question: would you be interested in being part of our launch team to launch our next location?
I was so encouraged by the response. Before we launched Ballston we felt like the magic number was 100. We needed a core of 100 people who were definitely/probably going to be part of our launch team. Three years ago we had 99 people who were definitely/probably willing to be part of the launch. Then I realized I hadn’t filled out a survey so it made it 100 on the dot.
Any guesses on how many definitely/probably responses we got this year? 99. And I didn’t fill out a survey! So we hit the bulls-eye again! What an amazing confirmation! 100 on the dot. God has an amazing way of confirming vision!
One more thing.
We had 52% of NCCers respond “maybe” on the launch question. That means that more than half of our church is willing to uproot and consider being part of a launch team. I think that is so cool. It says to me that we’ve got great spiritual flexibility. It shows me that our congregation isn’t stuck in a rut. Sure seems like the vast majority is on board with our multi-site vision.
