So before the Favre dust settles, I thought I’d post one more blog. I’m not gonna lie. I’m a little giddy. As a lifelong Packers and Vikings fan, it’s the best of both worlds for me. By the way, since I always have to explain how I could love arch rivals, I lived in both Minnesota and Wisconsin as a kid. What can I say? I love them both. Always have. Always will. Not possible? It’s like loving two children equally. I just don’t like it when they play each other.
I think the phone call that Brad Childress made giving Brett one more chance to unretire will prove to be the most important call in Vikings franchise history. The call heard round the world. The Vikings have been to the Superbowl four times. They have lost four times. I predict not only a Super Bowl appearance. I predict a Super Bowl victory. And it’ll all trace back to that one phone call.
Do I think the Vikings are unbeatable? Far from it. I think they’ll split with the Packers. But I do think they will win the Super Bowl. Favre won’t be the MVP. Peterson will be. But what a way to go out. With a Super Bowl ring.
