T-Minus 12 Hours

Less than 12 hours until we launch Saturday Night services at our coffeehouse.

This morning was what I call a “Mack Truck” morning.

When I got out of bed it felt like I’d been hit by a Mack Truck the day before :) I’m physically exhausted and I have a minor sore throat. But my first thought was, “This is the day the Lord has made. We’re going to rejoice and be glad in it.”

What a picturesque day for our first Saturday Night services. The sun was shining. The birds were chirping. It’s supposed to hit the 70′s in DC which ain’t bad for March! I couldn’t have special ordered a nicer day!

I always try to discern what it is that God wants to do in our lives when we gather. Here is my focus going into tonight. I feel like God wants to super-size our faith. And the way God increases our faith is by reminding us of His faithfulness.

I see a pattern in my life: when God answers “little” prayers it allows me to pray “bigger” prayers. I think faith is about dreaming bigger and bigger dreams until our dreams are God-sized dreams. And the only way they can become reality is divine intervention. That is the Ebenezers story in a nutshell.

Alright already.

Back to sermon prep. I’m trying to adjust to a new rhythm. I no longer have Saturday Night and Sunday Morning to fine-tune.
