Had a great day off yesterday. I’ve really been trying to “enjoy the journey” this week. I always feel like I’ve got more to do than I can possibly get done. But too often I allow that stress of what has to be done steal my joy over what’s happening. We took the kids strawberry picking at Cherry Hill Farm yesterday. What a blast. We even wandered down a hill to a little lake and creek. We took off our shoes (sort of like Moses taking off his sandals) and got our feet week walking through the creek. It was a amazing how much the kids loved that little adventure. By the way, we were a little over zealous on strawberries. We picked $28.18 worth! That’s a lot of strawberries! Later that afternoon we went to the pool and I just watched Josiah eat a bag of cheetos and thoroughly enjoyed it. After each cheeto he just sucked on each of his five fingers. Pretty funny stuff. Of course, after he finished he went over to the pool and put his hand in before I could stop him. Hopefully the other parents weren’t over concerned about orange floaties in the water. We ended the day watching the Ethiopia videos and reliving that experience. That’s what a call a day off!
