One Yes

This is one of my favorite days of the year: 8.8.  It was on this day, many moons ago, that I asked Lora out on our first date and she said, “Yes.”  For what it’s worth, it was also my parent’s anniversary.  Their wedding anniversary is our dating anniversary.

Lora surely didn’t know that one “yes” would change the trajectory of our lives.  Without that “yes” we don’t get married.  Without that “yes” our three kids wouldn’t exist.  Without that “yes” I wouldn’t be who I am or where I am.  Without that “yes” all of our shared experiences would have never happened. Hard to even imagine.  So grateful Lora said “yes.”

We were in a Souvenir shop on Mackinac Island when we say a sign that I absolutely love: all because two people fell in love.  Pretty profound. The sign beneath it is pretty funny too if you can read it.
