Ode to Catalyst

I’m spending most of my day prepping for my Catalyst Lab tomorrow night. Pretty pumped about it.

Catalyst has become an annual pilgrimage for our entire staff. We started going when it was just 2 of us on staff. We’ll bring about 30 staffers this week.

I have so many memories of catalyst moments where I have experienced some kind of breakthrough. Some of them have been in sessions. I’ll never forget the question Craig Groeshel asked a couple years ago: does your heart break for the things that break the heart of God? It wrecked me for the rest of the conference!

During one of the early conferences I got the idea for our popcorn-themed annual report from one of the exhibitors at Catalyst. My first book, In a Pit with Lion on a Snowy, launched with a give away at Catalyst. And last year was memorable because we had an “emergency staff meeting” to let the team know that the Union Station theaters were closing down. God gave me a word at Catalyst that catapulted us to six locations and a piece of property we are now designing and dreaming about one year later.

I’m praying for the Catalyst team today. So grateful for Brad and Chad and LV and Reggie and Andy and so many others that make Catalyst an annual highlight! They always create an amazing experience that blesses our team!
