I feel like I’m in one of those seasons where there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. I usually feel that way when I’m in a writing season, but I can’t seem to keep up. A big part of that is what is happening at National Community Church. We are experiencing the blessing of God and I’ve found that the blessing of God complicate our lives! Life gets more complicated, but it’s a holy complication.

I think it’s easy to lose your spiritual intensity in a busy season, but I feel like it’s taking me into a deeper, stronger, and more consistent prayer life. One of my all-time favorite Martin Luther quotes has to do with prayer. He once said: “I have so much to do today that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.” I think it’s the opposite for most of us. The busier we get the less we pray. It ought to be the inverse. The more we have to do the more we have to pray!
