My Job

I was talking to our CFO today and I jokingly said, “My job is to complicate your life.”  It wasn’t really a joke.

I think that’s part of leadership.  Over the last two years, God has blessed us in unbelievable ways with miraculous gifts, new ventures in other countries, a larger staff, and new “kingdom business” ventures.  That has directly impacted our finance department because it’s created a far more complicated financial puzzle to figure out. Praise God.  Those are holy complications because they are the byproduct of blessings.

I think complications serve two valuables purposes. One, they stretch our God-given abilities to their maximum limit. You don’t grow unless you’re stretched. Period. Two, they force us to lean into God even more.  It fosters raw dependence and raw dependence is the raw material out of which God does His greatest miracles.
