Most Important 10 Minutes of the Day

School has started and I’m back to doing AM devotions with the kids. I don’t preach sermons. Sometimes the kids are so tired I wonder if they even hear what I’m reading.   And not all of the prayers start revivals.  But that 10 minutes at the beginning of the day is the most important 10 minutes of the day.

It’s about having a touchpoint with the kids. It’s about modeling devotions. It’s about having a few moments to speak prophetic words in their lives.

I’ll be honest, I’ve failed at family devotions more than I’ve succeeded. But during the school year, I’m determined to make the habit stick.  It’s not always easy getting up a little earlier, but I believe that nothing pays dividends like devotions. It’s the only way to start the day! I’ve always found that when I begin the day praying for my family, I pray for them throughout the day.
