Means vs. Ends

One of the greatest dangers we face in church world is when the MEANS to an END becomes an END in itself or the END becomes a MEANS. The dream God has given you isn’t an END. God is the END all and be all. And if your dream becomes your END goal, then it’s becomes a form of idolatry.

So today I shared some big news: another contract on a piece of property. But that contract isn’t the END goal. It’s only a MEANS to an END. The END? The salvation of souls. This weekend we framed salvation as a “gospel moment”. It’s the moment when you cross the line of faith and follow Christ. We had lots of gospel moments this weekend. That is the END.

May we never confuse the ENDS and the MEANS.
