My all-time favorite pizza is Lou Malnati’s in Chicago. I’m not a fan. I’m a fanatic! I once had a layover at O’Hare airport with just enough time to catch a cab, order a pizza, pick it up, eat it on the way back to the airport in the cab, get through security, and catch my connecting flight.
So yesterday was a dream come true. I met the COO of Lou’s, Jim D’Angelo, and he showed me and let me make a Malnati’s pizza in their kitchen. The evidence is the tomato sauce on my hands! What a day! Thanks to my friend Daryl Merrill for making it happen.
