Just got back from a week at Disney with the family. I was on vacation but my brain is always in learning mode. So I thought I’d share a few observations over the next few days. I love the Kingdom of God. Nothing like it under heaven or on earth. But there might be a few things we can learn from the Magic Kingdom.
Here’s Disney Lesson #1: the difference between good and great is often found in the smallest details. I guess that’s another way of saying: 1% details make a 99% difference. The thing that amazes me about Disney is their eye for detail. From the oil-stained and potholed streets of NY at Hollywood Studios to the weather-beaten walls in the Saharan section of Animal Kingdom to all of the countries represented at EPCOT, the details are amazing! There is intentionality in every detail. Honestly, I think that is a reflection of the Creator. The exotic fish we saw at the Finding Nemo ride are evidence of it. God is into details.
Can I offer this simple reminder: the Devil ISN’T in the details. God is. And we better pay attention to the details. How? By doing little things like they are big things. And by believing that excellence honors God. Even in the smallest details.
