I’ve gotta admit that sometimes it’s pretty sweet living in the nation’s Capitol. Great amenities.
We took the kids ice skating at the Sculpture Gardens on the National Mall today. Actually, I’m not sure if you can call what we were doing “skating” but you get the picture.
Then we pooped into The National Museum of Natural History. A few museum reflections:
First of all, God is infinitely creative. The animal kingdom is exhibit A. God must really love variety!
Second, Australia definitely has the coolest animals. Plus I love saying their names! Platypus. Say it several times. Don’t you feel better? Kangaroo. Makes you think of Captain Kangaroo. And then there is my all time favorite. And you’ve got to say it with an Australian accent: dingo! I love saying that word so much that I wish we had named one of our kids Dingo
But that would have been a selfish decision.
Finally, African elephants poop eighty pounds per day. I knew that before going into the museum, but sometimes you need to be reminded of the important stuff in life
