Holy Hangover

What a weekend. The holy adrenaline is still flowing! Just thought I’d share a a caution. It’s easy to have a let down after a spiritual high. Momentum is something you need to guard very carefully and the only way to maintain momentum is staying hungry for more of God.

Mark 1:35 says Jesus “got up very early in the morning” and “went off to a desolate place to pray. Jesus set an example for us to follow, but what makes that verse so meaningful is the verses that precede it. Jesus was up late the night before casting out demons and healing the sick. He had to be physically and spiritually spent. He didn’t get much sleep. But he still got up early the next morning to spend time with the Father. That is how you avoid a holy hangover and maintain spiritual momentum.
