Had an incredible weekend in the Windy City. Amazing weather! Amazing restaurants! And lots of nostalgia! We spent Saturday in Naperville. Saw the old house, the old school, the old church. Actually got into my old Junior High, Madison, and got a chance to check the record board for Track & Field. Still hold three records. Not gonna lie, felt pretty good seeing my name up there!
Really enjoyed being at Christian Life Center with Pastor Jerry McQuay. Feels like home away from home since I was there a few years ago! After services we drove past my old digs at the University of Chicago and then up Lake Shore Drive into the city. Love that drive! Hung out in the city Sunday and Monday. Ate a whole slab of ribs at Carsons and five slices of deep dish at Gino’s East on Superior. I call that good food stewardship! In case you care, I did go running when we got home! Gonna take all week to work off this weekend.
On a serious note, this trip filled me with gratitude for the faithfulness of God. So grateful for my younger years. So grateful for my wife. So grateful for good memories!
