Fifteen Pounds

I don’t think I’ve ever blogged this, but I did share it in a sermon. Two months ago, for the first time in my life, I had to take a pair of pants to the tailor. And it wasn’t to “take them in.” Something about that shocked me and motivated me. I don’t think I was in bad shape, but I wasn’t in game shape. And the older I get the harder it is to stay in shape. Can I get an amen?

Sometimes it takes a defining moment like that to make a change. Long story short, I’ve dropped fifteen pounds in two months. I have five more to go to get to my optimal weight, but this last five is eating my lunch. Here’s a question: is it harder to lose weight the longer you’ve had it? It was relatively easy for me to drop fifteen because I put that on in the last two years. But I haven’t been 205 lbs in a long time. Seems like my body is having a hard time remembering what it was like so it’s resisting me. Or it may be that I don’t want to give up my white chocolate mochas.
