For years I’ve felt like a total failure when it comes to family devotions. Or as Josiah calls them: “family promotions.” I like his terminology better so that’s what we call it in our family. We’ve finally hit a little stride this year. We’re using a book called Lord, Bless my Child. Each week there is a one word theme. For example, last week it was gratitude. We generally do a family promotion on Wednesday night since it’s my day off. And we’ve had some good conversations. I just feel like it’s an important touch point for our family.

So I’m curious. What do you do for family devotions? How often do you have them? What are some tricks of the trade you’ve learned? What resources would you recommend? How do you get your kids engaged in the process?
