Fake or Real

Had an amazing day in Vegas yesterday.  Love the updated version of The Experience Economy.  So cool to hang out with the authors, Joe Pine and Jim Gilmore.  And what a unique gathering of people.  Met the guy who founded the Geek Squad, Robert Stephens.  Cool presentation from one of Lego’s key innovators.  And great to meet Jon Bridges, VP of Customer Service for Chick-fil-A. I’m dreaming of a Chick-fil-A in DC!

The thing that struck me about Las Vegas was this: they make things that are fake seem real.  The Venetian felt like Venice.  New York New York felt like New York.  I was also struck by the attention to detail.  It was honestly a little convicting.  I think the church sometimes ignores details and makes was is real seem fake.  Challenged and inspired.
