On August 18, Ebenezers is adding a lunch menu. So excited about this! A few weeks ago Ebz was named the #1 coffeehouse in DC by AOL Cityguide. Cool honor that glorifies God. But I also feel like that puts the pressure on us to be on our game. We need to upgrade all the time. We definitely need a few aesthetic upgrades. And we also need product upgrades. I think “upgrade all the time” is a pretty good motto whether you’re a business or a church. We need that divine discontent that drives us to excellence.

I’ve always loved something Dorothy Sayers said about Jesus. “No crooked table legs or ill-fitted drawers, I daresay, ever came out of the Carpenter’s shop in Nazareth.”

Bottom line: excellence honors God.

Really excited about giving people on Capitol Hill another lunch option.
