Parker and I went on our inaugural run today. We’re beginning to train for a sprint triathlon in September. It’s actually the same triathlon we did last year. Crossing that finish line with Parker last year is an amazing memory! And creating memories is one of my primary responsibilities as a parent.
I think its easy for relationships to stagnate. It doesn’t matter whether its families or marriages or churches, you need a common goal. It gives you something to work for. And it makes you work together. If you’ve ever been on a team you know what I’m talking about. Sweat is glue. The more you sweat working toward a common goal the greater the bond. I’m trying to do that with my kids via common goals.
