Chapel Balcony

One of the highlights of my day was praying in the chapel balcony. That is where I “put in my time” during college. It has always been one of my burning bushes. That is where I learned to seek God. That is where I started dreaming about what God wanted me to do. That is where I prayed through the tough decisions. That is where I processed all the “college emotions.”

Here’s why I spent so much time in that chapel balcony. I was inspired by the story of Joshua. In Exodus 33 it says that Moses went outside the camp to the tent of meeting to seek God. And there is one little glimpse into why God chose Joshua to succeed Moses. And not just succeed Moses, but to succeed in general. A little play on words there.

Exodus 33:11: “Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.” I’ve always believed that God would use the most whoever spent the most time with Him.
