Buzz Reflections: Day 2

I’m a perfectionist so I can immediately identify the things I’d do different next time around :) Don’t outsource lights! Schedule enough speakers so you don’t have to prepare for three sessions :) Open the doors before 1 PM for your 1 PM session :) Little stuff like that!

Can’t wait to get feedback on how we can make Buzz 07 even better!

Here are some of the highlights for me:

The synnergy amongst conference attendees was unreal. I’ve been to lots of conferences that are alot better than Buzz in lots of ways. But it seemed like there was intense conversation amongst attendees at all times. I wonder if some of that is the blog effect. People already knew lots of names before coming to the conference. For some people, Buzz was a “blog reunion” of sorts. I also think that there were alot of theater churches with a similar DNA.

I was inspired by the Buzz Film Festival. It was so cool to see that so many churches are pushing the envelop with their videos. I could have watched videos all night.

Another highlight was dinner with friends on Friday Night post-buzz. It was so cool to connect with pastors from all over the country. And Australia :) It was a great way to top off the conference.

Serious props to our team–all the way from our Buzz Coordinator, Juliet Main, to the NCCers who took off from work to help out. I really felt like the conference was so healthy for us! It stretched us. I think it pushed our hospitality and worship and production to the next level. And I know it was a learning experience for me.

Can’t wait for Buzz 07 :)

We’ll send out an email survey and get some feedback from conference attendees. We’ll make plenty of adjustments for Buzz 07. I think Buzz 06 was about starting a conversation.

Buzz On.
