Boom Done

We have a little saying around NCC: boom done. I can’t remember the genesis of it, but it has become part of our culture. We don’t just get things done. We get things boom done! It’s putting an exclamation mark on our work instead of just a period.

That little phrase–boom done–kept going through my head as I was reading Hebrews today. I love the language: “once and for all“, “final solution“, and “perfect sacrifice.” So grateful for what Christ did on the cross!

A few years ago this little saying changed my perspective on life: it’s not about what you can do for God, it’s about what God has done for you. That is like a deep breath of pure spiritual oxygen. It takes all the pressure off of us! And then our “works” aren’t attempts to earn our own salvation. They become acts of gratitude. We do what we do because Christ did what Christ did.

Boom done!
