An Earthquake. A Hurricane. Oh My.

An earthquake and hurricane in one week?  Unbelievable. But to be perfectly honest, the damage was pretty minimal–praise God.  When I drove to our Barracks Row location this morning it felt like fall–so many leaves on the streets. Lots of branches too.  The trees got a big time pruning!

For the record, we’ve never canceled services at NCC for weather.  Obviously, our theaters will occasionally stay closed, but if they are open we’re open.  We’ve endured some amazing snow storms!  We’ve done services with no AC in extreme heat.  And now a hurricane.  We obviously don’t expect anybody to endanger themselves, but we’re gonna gather one way or the other.

Not sure exactly how to describe this, but I actually enjoy services when the attendance is a little down because people can’t borrow energy from the people around them.  It forces us to deal with God one-on-one when their isn’t a huge crowd.  That can be a healthy change of pace!
