Just got back from speaking to 300 Air Force Chaplains at their annual gathering. Incredibly humbling speaking to uniformed officers. And pretty cool to put a copy of In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day in each of their hands. If anybody ought to identify with Benaiah it should be military chaplains because Benaiah was a warrior priest.
The forty-five minutes flew by. They minister to the same demographic as NCC–largely single twenty-somethings. So the Chief of Chaplains asked me to talk about some of the ways we’re reaching emerging generations. Hopefully there is cross-over to the military context. I think there is. Couldn’t help but think about the way chaplains are so strategically positioned to make a difference at such a unique life stage.
