We began our trip with Chick-fil-A. We ended our trip with Chick-fila. We actually visited the original Chick-fila. It was called The Dwarf House. I almost got down and kissed the ground. It was like a pilgrimage. The Dwarf House is the Holy Grail for chicken sandwich lovers!
For what it’s worth, one of my dominant memories from my ruptured intestines ordeal a few years ago was a craving for Chick-fil-A. I had been eating hospital food for about week and the first “non-hospital” food was a chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A.
For what it’s worth, we also discovered that the Dwarf House isn’t just the oldest Chick-fil-A. It’s also the slowest. But still worth the wait
Here’s The Original Chicken Sandwich Story that Chick-fil-A puts on all their bags.
From the kitchen of a small Hapeville, Georgia restaurant, The Dwarf House, came a sandwich that struck fear in hamburger patties everywhere. Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, created the very first chicken sandwich over 40 years ago. Other places have tried to mimic the one-of-a-kind taste, but much to their bewilderment their efforst haven’t been successful. The reason is simple. The Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich is the one and only. the taste is unique, with its perfectly seasoned breast of chicken, a toasted bun and those two crucial pickles. So anyone else’s attempt at a more delicious chicken sandwich will be as futile as trying to get a cow to lay eggs.
I love that last line
